M.D.M.A. – Multi-Dimensional Memetics Administration

Origin / History

Officially declassified in 1983 under a black-budget FOIA loophole, the M.D.M.A. was rumored to be a DARPA spin-off, seeded during the dissolution of MKOFTEN and folded into a joint CIA–NSA–DoD venture known as Project LAZARUS RETWEET. Its true origin, however, is whispered to trace back to Operation Paperclip’s "non-material assets"—certain occult scientists deemed too anomalous even for postwar exploitation. Reconstituted in the early 2000s as an inter-agency protocol group after a memetic spill during the Moebius Doctrine trials at Los Alamos.

Primary Function

On paper, M.D.M.A. monitors and mitigates “memetic incursions from hostile information topologies.” In reality, it studies and manipulates hyperdimensional memeforms—thought structures that exist beyond conventional spacetime, perceivable only at the sliver of their intersection with human consciousness.

These memeforms are not ideas about things. They are things. Viral architectures that co-infect thought, culture, and probability. Some are naturally occurring, others suspected to be engineered—by whom, or what, is unknown.

M.D.M.A.'s task is not to “understand” these structures. It is to shape the aperture—to act as a membrane, ensuring only the "correct fragments" manifest in our local cognitive plane.

Symbols and Patches

A tessellated ouroboros folding through a Penrose triangle. Centered within: a bleeding eye fractalizing into ASCII glyphs. The Latin motto reads: “Verba sunt Dimensiones”Words are Dimensions. Agents wear no physical patches; instead, their clearance keys include a neural tattoo—a lattice of flickering hexagrams visible only under DMT-assisted fMRI.

Internal documentation refers to the sigil as the Horizon Dialectic.

“It’s not that we can’t perceive them. We’re perceiving them constantly. The problem is: we mistake them for our own thoughts.”
